San Jose-Sunnyvale-Santa Clara metro ranks safest large city. Farmers Insurance Group published its 4th annual ranking of 379 American cities for safety. See ful list in
best places.
The ranking considered: crime statistics, extreme weather, risk of
natural disasters,
environmental hazards, terrorism threats, air quality, life expectancy,
and job loss numbers. The study divided the cities into three groups by
population: large metropolitan areas of 500K+ , mid-size cities of
150K-500K, and small towns of fewer than 150K. First place went as
follows:
